This year’s inaugural Watches & Wonders Geneva 2020 went digital, and the releases are still filtering down to worldwide markets, but the W&W-branded expansion continues, with the announcement of their first event in Shanghai. Remembering, of course, that there were two held nearby in Hong Kong in recent years.
The Shanghai event will be invitation-only, and small in scale because of the prevailing COVID-19 conditions. As well as being able to view 2020 releases from the eleven participating brands, events, talks, demonstrations and exhibitions are planned. There will also be product launches.
Yesterday’s post mentioned the new HOURUNIVERSE – Baselworld ‘remade’ and re-branded as a year-round digital platform accompanied by an annual in-person event. This new Watches & Wonders Shanghai is similarly being positioned as part of an expanding Watches & Wonders worldwide concept, and it will also be covered on their website.
It will be held between September 9-13, 2020 and the location will be the West Bund Art Center. The exhibiting brands will be A.Lange & Söhne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Piaget, Purnell, Roger Dubuis, and Vacheron Constantin.
