It seems like only yesterday that there was news from the MCH Group, but no it was almost two weeks ago when the news broke about James Murdoch’s impending involvement with MCH.
Now, they have announced an entirely new non-Baselworld branded concept called – HOURUNIVERSE (caps and bold are theirs), focusing on the same industries that have been at Baselworld – watches, jewellery, and gemstones, but indicating that they are open to going beyond these.
The details are rather thin on the ground at present, and will be revealed next month. All they are saying so far is that it is “live and virtual, active all year round”, “…a B2B2C meeting point that places the customer at the heart of its focus, reversing the order of the past. The entire platform is thought out and designed around the customer. This applies to all players of the distribution chain, traditional and online retailers, including those of the CPO (certified Pre-Owned)”, and it will have an “annual live show” (PKA Baselworld), the first of which will be held during April 2021 to synchronise with the other watch fairs that will be taking place.
