Panerai have launched the their third Guillaume Néry Edition edition, the PAM1122. Their first Néry model was the PAM 982 in 2019, followed by the fifteen piece limited edition PAM 983.
Unlike its predecessors, which were both chronographs in 47mm cases, this third piece is purely time/ date limited edition in a 44mm case and with a 70 year warranty, to mark seventy years of the Luminor.
The new PAM1122 is in a sand-blasted DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) titanium case with 300m water resistance and has a rubberised coating applied to the titanium bezel, crown, and bridge lever.
Behind the sand-blasted titanium case back, which has DLC coating and is engraved with both Néry’s signature and “70 Years Warranty”, is the reliable automatic Calibre P.9010 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of three days.
The black of the dial and bezel continues through to the strap, which is made from (very topical) recycled PET with contrasting white stitching. There will be course, a second strap – a white rubber one with, interestingly, lumed “Officine Panerai” on it. Everything will come in a box made from recycled plastic which features Néry’s signature.
Freediver Guillaume Néry has been a worldwide ambassador for Officine Panerai since 2018, following his retirement from competitive diving, in which he became world champion and a record holder, in 2015.
