Following last weekend’s announcement by the Swatch Group of their withdrawal from the Baselworld watch and jewellery fair, organising company MCH Group has announced the resignation of CEO René Kamm, who has spent almost two decades with the Group.
Mr Kamm started in 1999 as the director of Baselworld, and has also had an important role in the development and growth of Art Basel, as well as in the Group’s expansion.
The Swatch Group withdrawal has been explicitly referred to in the press release regarding Mr Kamm’s resignation, with respects to MCH’s regret about the decision, about how this will affect their financial results, and regarding how MCH will now have to re-examine the logistics of the 2019 fair at Messe Basel.
Further, the MCH Group press release states that they will publish information about the half-year results for 2018 on 4 September 2018.
