Vacheron Constantin have launched their pre-SIHH 2017 teasers not with some simple models, but with a Traditionnelle Minute Repeater Tourbillon which we will cover later, but also a new addition to the much loved Patrimony Retrograde line. It is the latter that we will cover today, and hopefully be able to share some live photos of with you, soon.
As variations on an existing theme, so to speak, the look of this new watch is familiar, with the retrograde date arcing at the top of an opaline dial, but with a new feature for this new ‘small complication’ sibling to the day-date – a moon phase indication. It is on a gold disc that matches the metal of the watch and accurate to 122 years. Importantly, all functions are operated/ changed via a single crown.
Inside this new 42.5mm sized model (available in rose gold or white gold) is a new movement, the automatic Calibre 2460 R31L which has a 22 carat gold rotor featuring the Maltese Cross. With a forty-hour power reserve, there are 275 parts to this new calibre.
The US RRP will be $39,900, other pricing to follow when we have them.
