Today’s is perhaps an unusual post in that with rare exceptions, we don’t tend to cover quartz watches, let alone women’s quartz watches, but if a watch grabs your attention for whatever reason then it is worth mentioning, I think.
Longines’s Grande Classique Collection, launched in 1992, has been a hugely successful one for them, characterised by the case design and simple crowd pleasing designs. This year they introduced three new models that really stood out against the classical sea of watch faces in front of me, and so it is that I share one of them with you today.
Coming in two sizes (24mm and 29mm) with thickness of 4.2mm and 4.44mm respectively, they are available in three mother-of-pearl dial colours and two variants of each colour (with diamond markers and bezel or without). I thought I’d share one of the latter exemplars with you today. The 24mm version has 48 diamonds (0.043 carats) and the 29mm case, 56 diamonds (0.470 carats).
With its star design on the MOP dial this is a delicate pretty watch in soft hues. Combined with matching strap colours or a stainless steel bracelet, it is a fresh (dare I say ‘summery’) 2016 addition to the popular collection.
