NEW: Swatch Mission to the Moonphase MoonSwatch

Even though they were not limited in edition nor production, when the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection was launched, the confluence of the Omega Speedmaster and Swatch’s affordability lead to launch day queues which probably surprised even the Swatch Group.

The planetary dust settled on those launch models, but it was probably inevitable that a new addition to the MoonSwatch would come involving Snoopy, given his popularity whenever he makes an appearance on an Omega.

Meet the all-white Mission to the Moonphase Ref. SO33W700, which is also Swatch’s first chronograph with a moonphase function.

The case is 42mm with a thickness of 13.75mm and water resistance of 30m. The case, crown and pushers are all Bioceramic. The recessed (like the Speedmaster) chronograph and mooon phase sub dials and bezel background are white, with the chronograph function’s seconds hand, sub dial hands, and tachymeter in black. There is the ‘dot over 90” on the tachymeter that is familiar to Speedmaster folks.

Snoopy, with Woodstock keeping him company, lies on the moon on the moon phase disc, and there’s a bit of Super-LumiNova® action, with a hidden quote from a Snoopy comic strip that can be revealed. The indices, hour and minute hands and the tip of the chronograph seconds hands are also lumed.

The dial has the OMEGA X Swatch branding, Speedmaster logo, and the MoonSwatch logo, with an etched ‘S’ on the box-shaped biosourced glass construction. There is also lunar-like image and moon reference on the case back.

It has probably slipped your mind, but this is not the first Peanuts/ Snoopy-themed Bioceramic Swatch. We covered that capsule collection here.

Coming on a VELCRO® strap, the new quartz Swatch Mission to the Moonphase MoonSwatch has a release date of 26 March 2024 at selected Swatch stores, with an Australian RRP of $500. With an accessible price point and no limitation number, this is not just for the Omega Snoopy Speedmaster fans, but positioned to appeal to a broader demographic of Peanuts/ Snoopy fans. Will people want to be one of the first to get it on their wrist? It ticks a lot of boxes, so there’s no reason to think it won’t be popular.

If you own a Snoopy Speedy, you could always get this new piece to go with that, or there’s also the option of getting one to go with your new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch White.
