NEW: ochs und junior due ore mese 42

The new ochs und junior due ore mese 42 two timezones + date brings this model from a customised form to a serially produced model. The 42mm (thickness of 12.5mm) two-part case is Grade 5 titanium and water resistant to 100m. This is the same case specs as for the model that can be customised.

Functionally, there is the primary time zone, a second time zone, date, seconds disc, and power reserve indicator. For those not familiar with the unusual indication used, both time zones are simultaneously displayed via a single unusual hour hand. In the photograph below, the home time is 09:08, the second (away) time is indicated via the number inside the open hour hand. The time zone disc in the centre is adjusted so that the difference between the two time zones is displayed at 12 o’clock – if the second time zone is ahead (+) then this number is set at 12 o’’clock. If it is behind (-), you subtract from 12 and again, set the result at 12 o’clock. Below is an image from the customised model’s explanatory page which makes it easier to understand.

The 30+1 holes around the perimeter of the dial display the date, with the 10 minute markers doing double duty as reference points e.g. 30 minute maker is also the 15th day of the month. Above the 6 o’clock marker is a seconds disc. The small circle beneath 12 o’clock is the power reserve (disc) indicator, with full power indicated when the dot is beneath the right side of the 12 o’clock marker and lowest in power when the dot is at the extreme left of the 12 o’clock.

Colourwise, it is about PVD-coated shades of brown, with the dial, second time zone disc, seconds disc, power reserve disc, and date disc in Pantone No. 7553 C, and the markers, second time zone numbers, hour and minute hands, seconds dot, power reserve dot, and date dot in Pantone No. 7506 C. Super-LumiNova appears on the markers, hands, and numerals.

Powering the ochs und junior due ore mese 42 two timezones + date is the automatic Ulysse Nardin UN-118 which beats at, 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 60 hours but which was modified by Ludwig Oechslin, who worked on the direction gear, gear wheel, timezone disc, date disc, and module board.

Coming on a handmade Ecopell strap made by Sabina Brägger with a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle and in a leather pouch also made by Brägger, it has an RRP of CHF 7,458.90 (including taxes)/ CHF 6,900 (excluding taxes).
