Back in 2019 Longines released the Heritage Classic. Featuring a central silvered opaline disc surrounded by a satin finished disc and small seconds in striated silvered opaline, it was a very handsome modern version of a 1934 sector dial reference from their museum.
Now, for 2021, the model comes in a new black variant, with a new ‘grain of rice’ bracelet option added to the mix. It remains in a 38.5mm sized stainless steel case with a water resistance of 30m.
The sector dial of this timepiece is composed of different zones in black and charcoal, each with a different finish to give it some visual interest and depth. The centre is matte, and the hour circle is anthracite with a circular brushed finish. Hour, minutes and seconds hands are all silvered and polished.
As you can guess, it has the same movement as the 2019 model – the automatic Calibre L 893 which beats at 25,200 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
Coming on a Cognac leather strap with buckle but with a ‘grain of rice’ stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp as a possible option, the Australian RRP on the strap is $3,050. The references are L2.828.4.53.6 on the bracelet and L2.828.4.53.2 on the leather strap.
