The short-lived HOURUNIVERSE, which we never got to know, is gone, with the BASELWORLD name re-emerging, complete with a brand new logo.

The experimental name may have been vanquished, but the changes to the show’s format and focus remain. The plan is still to expand its scope and audience, and to have the physical fair in Basel as the centrepiece of regular events (they call it “365 community”) both online and offline not just for the watch, jewellery, and gemstone exhibitors/ industry and media, but also for the broader collector and enthusiast community.

In an acknowledgment of the times in which we find ourselves, the new website even has a section called “Content Creators” asking those who “… have an interest in watches or jewellery or gemstones? All of them? You consider yourself social media savvy and own an instagram or youtube fan-base of +10,000 followers?” to get in touch.

The date of BASELWORLD 2022 will be co-ordinated with the other fairs but the digital part will be launched in the European autumn 2021.
