NEW : Chopard L.U.C Flying T Twin Baguette

The 72nd Festival de Cannes, aka the Cannes International Film Festival, has just finished. Chopard, an official partner of the film festival since 1998, is the brand which more than any other, is featured adorning attendees and nominees.

To mark this year’s Festival, they have launched the new limited edition L.U.C. Flying T Twin Baguette, a bejewelled piece intended for formal occasions, and part of their ‘Red Carpet Collection’.

A new edition of their first flying tourbillon launched at Baselworld 2019, this piece comes in a 40mm sized (7.20mm thick) 950 Pt case with a baguette-cut diamond set bezel. Both the L.U.C. Flying T Twin (itself limited to fifty pieces) and this Baguette version use Chopard’s first movement with a flying tourbillon, the COSC-certified automatic Calibre 96.24-L. At 3.30mm thick, it has two stacked barrels, a 22 carat gold winding rotor, beats at 25,200VPH, and a power reserve of sixty-five hours.

Red carpet. Black tie. Black dial. In this instance, a black hand-guillochéd solid gold dial with a sunburst satin-brushed rim. The hour and minute hands are rhodium-plated and the hour markers, baguette-cut diamonds. The flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock also doubles as a small seconds.

The platinum case features a mix of vertical satin-brushed and polished finishing, and has an 18 carat white gold crown with the L.U.C. logo.

In a limited edition of just ten pieces, it comes on a matte black alligator strap with brown alligator lining and a 950 Pt pin buckle.
