NEW: Panerai Radiomir Officine PAM01385 Limited Edition

The first Radiomir prototype dates back to 1935, and although the model’s popularity within Officine Panerai’s collections has waxed and waned over the years, somewhat overshadowed by the Luminor, recent years have seen it being given a new lease on life courtesy of new sizing, colour, complications, and positioning.

Now, the brand pays tribute to the original prototype with the new online-only Radiomir Officine PAM01385. It is similar to the PAM01384 but replaces the white dial by a ‘vintage-look’ sepia-toned brown colour which they call ‘matte taupe’. This is the first use of this dial colour in a Radiomir, although there are other Radiomir models with various shades of brown, most notably the Tre Giorni and Otto Giorni models.

The new model hits many familiar cues. In a polished steel case with a water resistance of 100m, it has a ‘sandwich dial’ with hours, minutes and a small seconds at 9 o’clock. The hour and minute hands are silver-coloured and filled with green SuperLumiNova®, as are the numbers and indices.

Behind the closed case back is the in-house manually-wound Calibre P.6000 which beats at 21,600 VPH and has a power reserve of three days.

Coming on a matching dark brown Scamosciato calf strap with contrast stitching and limited to 300 pieces, the PAM01385 has an Australian price of $8,300 and is only available from Officine Panerai’s website.
