NEW: Girard-Perregaux Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition

You may recall the last time we mentioned one of the results of the partnership between Girard-Perregaux and Aston Martin – the Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin edition.

That was a piece that would fall under the ‘expected model’ category of such a brand relationship, but the latest collaboration model is a bit more unexpected and worth noting.

Meet the new Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition, which consists of two limited edition models in 38mm and 42mm sized cases in green ceramic. It may be using the same Racing Green ‘house colour’, but it’s doing it in a more interesting way than just on the dial, and the green ceramic case and bracelet are making their inaugural appearance in the Laureato collection. Both sizes have a water resistance of 100m.

The original Laureato was characterised by an octagonal bezel atop a circular level on top of a tonneau-shaped case and now, all of these well-known features are in green ceramic, along with the integrated bracelet, with a combination of polished and satin finishing.

The sunray green dials have a diamond-shaped cross-hatch design, a nod to the pattern found on the ‘AM’ logo (1921-1926) as well as the quilted seats found in some Aston Martin cars. The skeletonised ‘baton’ type hour and minute hands are skeletonised and lumed. The indices are rhodium-plated and also lumed.

Both size variants of the Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition have automatic movements that are visible through a sapphire case back which has a decal of the Aston Martin logo.

The 42mm model uses the Calibre GP01800, which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 54 hours. The 38mm model has the Calibre GP03300 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 46 hours. The movements feature circular graining on the main plate, with mirror polishing, satin finishing and snailing also making an appearance. The bridges are decorated with straight Côtes de Genève and the oscillating weight with circular Côtes de Genève.

The Laureato Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition 42mm comes in limited edition of 388 pieces with an RRP of CHF24,600 / EUR25,900. The 38mm model is in a limited edition of 188 pieces with an RRP of CHF23,800 / EUR25,000. They will be available in June 2023.
