NEW: Panerai Luminor Perpetual Calendar Goldtech™ and Luminor Perpetual Calendar Platinum™

We have covered quite a few watches from Panerai using their various proprietary –tech materials over the years, and there are two new pieces that have just been added to this material ‘theme’, as it were – the new Luminor Perpetual Calendar in Goldtech™, and one in Platinumtech™.

First up is the new Luminor Perpetual Calendar Goldtech™ (PAM00742), in a 44mm sized case with a water resistance of 50m (splash only).

For those in need of a memory jogger, Goldtech™ is an alloy consisting of 75% gold, 24% copper, and 0.4% platinum. For this new model, it has been used for the case, bezel, case back, and the locking device and lever.

As the model name indicates, its functions are, apart from the time, the day, week, month, year, a leap year indicator, power reserve, GMT function (at 9 o’clock), perpetual calendar, and seconds reset. Those that are on the front side are on a dark blue sunray dial, with the “Calendario Perpetuo” making its full functionality clear despite the presence of some of its features on the movement side.

Powering all of this, and visible through the case back, is the P.4100 movement, which features a Goldtech™ rotor. It beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of three days.

Coming on a matching blue hand-stitched alligator strap with contrast stitching, it has an RRP of AUD 68,300 (incl taxes)/ CHF 46,000, which as a price point is right up there for a Luminor.

The second new Luminor Perpetual Calendar comes in Platinumtech™, a new material which we wrote about earlier this year. This proprietary platinum alloy is hard, durable, and more scratch resistant than a platinum case.

Like the Goldtech™ model, it is also 44mm with a water resistance of 50m. Also similarly, the case, bezel, case back, crown and classic crown locking device are all made from Platinumtech™.

It is functionally identical but for this model, the it has a very 2020-2021 dark green sunray dial.

It obviously uses the same P.4100 movement, but also with the same Goldtech™ rotor.

Coming on a reddish-brown alligator strap with ecru stitching, the Luminor Perpetual Calendar Platinumtech™ has an RRP of AUD 98,000 (incl. taxes)/ CHF 66,800 .
