Last month De Bethune announced the latest variant to the DB27 Titan Hawk with – you guessed it – a green dial. In this instance, a quite deep shade almost tending towards the ‘British racing green’ tone.
For those unfamiliar with why it is “V2”, you just need to go back to 2018, when a ‘renewed’ De Bethune launched the first Titan Hawk V2 as a part of it’s new leadership and (slight) change in direction. This V2 included a new in-house movement, called the AUTOV2, which is also the movement in this 2021 release.
Now, joining the previous silver or blue dial models, this new edition is a 43mm case in Grade 5 titanium (water resistance of 30m) with a microlight case middle, featuring a green microlight dial with sand-blasted hand-polished steel seconds, hour and minute hands, the latter two with white tips. There is a silver-toned chapter ring with Roman numerals and a silver-toned minutes circle with Arabic numerals.
Through the open case back can be seen the AUTOV2 calibre, which has an oscillating weight made from titanium and tungsten alloy and a titanium balance wheel with white gold inserts. It beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 60 hours.
Coming on a khaki green canvas strap, the new DB27 Titan Hawk green dial is in a limited edition of ten numbered pieces, with an RRP of CHF 40,000 (without taxes).
