Laurent Ferrier is marking a decade with the launch of the Classic Origin Opaline, its first piece in a titanium. The new Classic Origin Opaline features the same pebble-inspired case design of the Galet (although if you look at their website, the Galet name is no longer prominent), and is 40mm with a thickness of 10.70mm and water resistance of 30m. The case is polished and features the Ferrier ball-shaped crown in titanium is featured on all Laurent Ferrier watches.
The dial is clean and very classically Ferrier. It is white-silver opaline and features their spear-shaped Assegai hour and minute hands. The Arabic numerals on the dial’s light-gray minutes/ 24-hour railway track are etched into the dial and painted in a burgundy colour. The grey of the track is mirrored in the grey of the crosshairs. There is a small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock with baton-shaped hands. All hands and the applied markers at 12, 3 and 9 o’clock are 18k white gold.
Through the open case back is the new manual-wind in-house Calibre LF116.01, beating at 21,600VPH and with a power reserve of 80 hours. It features a Swiss lever escapement, a free-sprung balance screw, and a Breguet overcoil. The bridges are microblasted with a black rhodium finish and hand bevelling. Each screw head is mirror polished.
The Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Opaline comes on a light-brown Barbialla calf leather strap lined with Alcantara microfibre and with a titanium pin buckle. The RRP of this new Classic Origin Opaline is CHF 28,500 (excluding taxes).
