Oris is celebrating the village in which it was founded with a number of limited edition series this year. The first is named in honour of Hölstein, where the company was established on 1 June 1904 by watchmakers Paul Cattin and Georges Christian, who named it after the local creek.
The Oris Hölstein Edition 2020 is a bronze version of the Divers Sixty-Five Chronograph, which itself has many variants in what has become a solid sub section of this collection family.
What makes this out from the many other bronze watches in recent times is that it comes on a bronze bracelet. The 43mm sized case, its uni-directional bezel, bezel insert, crown, and pushers are all bronze. The stainless steel screw-down case back is engraved with the Oris Bear. The watch still has a water resistance of 100m.
Beneath the domed sapphire is a gold-plated dial with black chronograph counters (30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock) and rose gold-plated indices. The hour and minute hands as well as the hour markers all have Super-LumiNova®.
Inside is the automatic Oris Calibre 771 (base Sellita SW 510) which beats at 28,800VPH and has a power reserve of 48 hours.
Released in a limited edition of 250 pieces, and with an RRP of CHF 4,800, the Hölstein Edition 2020 is available through Oris boutiques, the Oris e-Shop, and retailers with access to the Oris e-shop. You can also choose your limitation number online.
