Amongst Nomos Glashütte’s new releases for 2019 is the lengthily named Tangente Sport neomatik 42 date. It is interesting for two main reasons; it has a water resistance of 300m/ 1,000ft (and thus, a screw-down crown), and it features the brand’s first metal bracelet, which has one hundred and forty five parts and comes with a newly designed deployant clasp.
The stainless steel case measures 42mm, with a thickness of 10.9mm. It has double sapphire crystals and it is water resistant to 1,000ft. It comes in two dial colour options; white silver-plated (Ref.580), or what Nomos are calling ‘marine black’ (Ref.581).
The Ref.580 has hour indices with sand-coloured Super-LumiNova and the ‘1000ft’ in red at six o’clock. Hands are rhodium-plated, with dark blue Super-LumiNova.
The Ref. 581’s marine black dial has hour indices with light blue Super-LumiNova, and the ‘100ft’ also in red at six o’clock. Its hands are rhodium-plated, with sand-coloured SuperLumiNova and a red seconds hand.
Inside is the automatic Nomos ultra-thin (3.6mm) in-house Calibre DUW 6101 which beats at 28,800VPH and has a power reserve of forty-two hours. It features the NOMOS swing system, a tempered blue balance spring and tempered blue screws, bi-directional winding rotor with gold-plated embossing, rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage, and a Glashütte three-quarter plate,
