After a movement-filled 2017 for Richemont senior executives which started with both Board level and structural changes, not to mention a major departure, the South China Morning Post has reported that the Asia-Pacific President of Van Cleef & Arpels, Catherine Renier, will become the next CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre, finally filling the spot previously held by Daniel Riedo.
In the year since Daniel Riedo’s departure, Jaeger-LeCoultre has been under the stewardship of Geoffroy Lefebvre. Renier will commence duties as CEO on May 1, 2018. She joined Van Cleef & Arpels in October 2003 as Deputy International Marketing Director, before becoming Commercial Director Asia Pacific in August 2008, Managing Director, Hong Kong and Macau (August 2011), and finally President, Asia Pacific, in April 2013.
It has further been reported by Business Montres (and confirmed by Baume et Mercier) that Lefebvre will take over from Baume et Mercier CEO Alain Zimmerman, who will move to a newly created Richemont Group position – Specialist Watchmakers E-Distribution Strategic Project Director, focusing on E-Commerce. Both appointments will be effective June 1, 2018.
With some senior executive positions still to be filled/ in flux, there will be more activity at Richemont this year. Watch this space.
