Thai Deputy PM General Prawit Wongsuwan has submitted a letter explaining his possession of a number of luxury watches to Thailand’s National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), after an uproar that started after he was photographed wearing two Richard Mille watches.
The NACC had given Prawit until January 8, 2018, to explain why his luxury watches were not listed among mandatory asset declarations when he assumed office after helping stage the 2014 coup.
Since the first Richard Mille was spotted, the citizens of Thailand have been combing through photos of the General to look for more luxury watches photographed on his wrist. To date they have come up with ten more, including a Patek Philippe Ref 5960P, and a couple of Rolexes.
The NACC is now examining the letter, the contents of which have not been released.
