NEW: H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Retrograde Seconds

H.Moser & Cie expands its Pioneer family with the new Retrograde Seconds. A small complication more commonly associated with dress watches, be it for Moser or more generally, the retrograde makes its debut in the brand’s casual line, with its debut model in steel. The case is 42.8mm (14.2mm thick) with water resistance of 120m.

The dial of the new model is the brand’s Midnight Blue, with their familiar fumé with sunburst pattern. The brand logo is in transparent lacquer, so it is visible only at an angle. The hour/ minute hands and the applied hour markers all have Super-LumiNova.

The 30-second retrograde is at 6 o’clock, with the hand jumping back to the start every 30 seconds, courtesy of a double snail cam. At the end of each cycle the snail releases the energy accumulated and stored by a hairspring located under the seconds hand axis.

The retrograde seconds has a silver-moulded skeletonised bridge, and there is a two-tone disc beneath the snail that indicates whether the retrograde in the first or second 30-second period of the cycle.

Through the open case back can be seen the automatic HMC 250. It is based on the HMC 201 with a retrograde module from Agenhor. Beating at 21,600 VPH with a power reserve of three days, it has partially skeletonised bridges, an engraved rotor, and anthracite finish with Moser double stripes.

Coming on a matching blue rubber strap, the H.Moser & Cie Pioneer Retrograde Seconds in Midnight Blue has an RRP of CHF 19,900.
