Roger Dubuis continues to confirm that there is a market for double tourbillons with the new limited edition Excalibur Double Tourbillon Cobalt Chrome. Its 45mm case is made of Cobalt Chrome (aka CCMTM – Cobalt Chrome Cartech Micro-Melt Biodur), an alloy the brand has used since 2017, most notably for the upper bridge of tourbillon cages.
The watch is skeletonised, with the dial side dominated by a blue CVD-coated satin-brushed flange with transferred minute track and texts, and polished and rhodium plated hour markers with lume.

The Dubuis star dominates the top half of the front, and forms part of the manually-wound Calibre RD108SQ (SQ for squelette, indicating that this is the skeletonised movement) with a double tourbillon linked by a differential connected to the second wheel of the gear train. The two tourbillons are made from titanium and cobalt chrome. With a mix of shot-blasting and circular graining, finishing-wise, the main plate and bridge have NAC coating. It beats at 21,600 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours.

A boutique-only release and limited to 28 pieces, the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Double Tourbillon Cobart Chrome comes on a blue calf strap with a titanium folding buckle that has the brand’s Quick Release System for strap changes.
