This one is for the avgeeks and fans of mid-century design – Vulcain has paid homage to the famed TWA terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Built in 1962, the terminal is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is significant for its architecture, engineering, and status as a symbol of American air travel. Vulcain’s new table clock is a smaller version of the clock that hangs above its entry.

Although no longer a TWA terminal, this distinctive curved concrete building was restored and given a second life as the TWA Hotel. It has become a destination in its own right both for Saarinen’s design (interiors as much as the exterior), and for its location within the airport.

Suspended from the Flight Center’s lobby is a three-sided Vulcain clock that was added after the building’s opening in 1962, and it is this clock which has been reinterpreted (basically turned upside down so that there is a base) into a table-friendly form.
Measuring 83mm x 126mm, it has a stainless steel body and an iridescent light grey finish (Pantone 2323), with three domed crystals covering sunburst silvered dials. The separate clocks all have a quartz Ronda 712 movement and battery life is estimated at 60 months.

The RRP of the Vulcain TWA Flight Center Table Clock is USD 1,300.
