NEW: Angelus Instrument de Vitesse” 60 Seconds Monopusher Chronograph

The new Angelus Instrument de Vitesse (translation ‘speed instrument’) Monopusher Chronograph is a the second addition to the classically-inclined La Fabrique collection, the first of which, the Chronographe Médical, we looked at last year.

The new Angelus Instrument de Vitesse Monpusher Chronograph comes in two 25-piece limited editions. Both in a 39mm stainless steel case (thickness of 9.2mm), one has an ebony black dial, and the other has an ivory-coloured dial.

Alongside the hours and minutes there is a one-minute chronograph (no totaliser sub dials) and a ‘base 1000’ tachymeter scale and a graduated minutes scale. The hands are either black or rhodium-plated, depending on the dial colour. Both the hands and numerals have Super-LumiNova.

Powering this new model is the manually-wound in-house Cal. A5000. A monopusher column wheel chronograph, it beats at 21,600 VPH and has a power reserve of 42 hours. The mainplate is circular-grained with palladium finishing. The bridges also have a palladium finish, along with Cotes de Genève. The wheels are gilded.

Coming on either a caramel calfskin leather strap or a midnight-blue nubuck leather strap with ecru stitching and a steel pin buckle, the RRP for the Angelus Instrument de Vitesse is CHF 17,100.

Angelus speak of this watch as being racing-inspired, but as was the case with the Chronographe Médical before it, the Instrument de Vitesse’s classical antecedents (wrapped up in a modern package) are clear, and this is a major selling point for the many watch people.
