HERMÈS: Arceau Petite Lune

Today we are looking at Hermès’ latest Arceau Petite Lune collection, which brings a stylised approach to the night skies in a diamond-set case.

This new timepiece comes in a 38mm sized white gold case set with 70 diamonds (0.805 ct) and which also has a gem-set white gold crown. It features the use of aventurine, mother-of-pearl, aragonite, and opal – the shimmering blue dial is the aventurine, the moon is mother-of-pearl, and the planets in Aragonite. A smattering of five diamonds (0.019 ct) are an abstract representation of stars. The hands are rhodium-plated.

Powering the time and moon phase that is situated between 10 and 11 o’clock is the Hermès automatic H1837 with a moon phase module. It beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 42 hours. Finishing wise, it has a circular-grained and snailed main plate, satin-brushed bridges and oscillating weight, and of course some Hermès Hs.

The deep blue polished alligator strap with a calfskin underlay comes on a white gold pin buckle.

This is for the Hermès’ fans and particularly who like the Arceau shape but want something with a bit more wrist presence (and stones). It’s bright and shiny, but still discreet on the wrist.
