SINN has launched the new addition to the 358 chronograph series – meet the new 358 Sa PILOT DS with a ‘ground’ decorative dial.
The key aspects of the watch will be familiar to many of you – the stainless steel case is 42mm with a thickness of 15mm. It has a screw-down crown and is water resistant to 10m. The functions are also clear on the dial – along with the time and chronograph functions there are date and day of the week display. SINN’s Ar-Dehumidifying Technology is also present, as shown by the ‘Ar’ on the dial. The numbers and indices are all lumed.
The 358 Sa PILOT DS’ dial is finished with a manually-engraved decoration that the brand has somewhat awkwardly called a “grinding dial”. Because it is not about any specific pattern, it is not about conforming to uniformity – each dial will be slightly different.
Behind the open case back is the automatic Sellita SW500 chronograph movement (based on the Valjoux 7750) which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 44 hours.
As this is a variant on an existing model, it all comes down to liking the model, but wanting it to look just a little bit different. Coming with a three year warranty, the price for the new 358 Sa PILOT DS is EUR 2,750 with a leather strap, EUR 2,950 on a silicone strap, EUR 3,040 on a bracelet, and if you want the case back closed up, it will cost you an extra EUR 35.
