Watch brands change their messaging and focus to varying degrees. Some seem to have these deeply embedded into the brand identity, and others refresh on a far more regular basis. This year, for Piaget it is about the ‘sunny side of life’ and their new 29mm-sized ‘Possession’ collection for women.
The Possession entry level collection includes steel and gold ranges with a silvery dial, diamond markers, and four differently coloured strap options, but it is the stone-dialled ones that we are sharing with you today.
In the late 1960s Piaget was amongst the first brands to produce dials decorated with semi precious stones, with the use of thin pieces of turquoise, lapis lazuli, malachite, and opal. The use of stones has never truly gone away at Piaget, but with the new Possession pieces they are taking a front of stage position. Available in lapis lazuli, carnelian, turquoise or malachite, the nature of stone means that no two watches of the same dial type will have identical dials.
All of these new pieces come in rose gold cases framed by a diamond-set bezel set, and with matching straps. These watches are about the stones; about fashion and style, not the movement, which is the Calibre 56P quartz.
If you like matching watches, there is a mechanical retrotastic watch in the men’s collection with a malachite dial called the ‘Arty’ Malachite.
