Just a quick interesting little link-post today, sharing something that came to my notice courtesy of #thewatchnerd.

For those who, like myself, aren’t Reddit regulars, here is a rather intriguing thread concerning how a NASA-issued Speedy came to the attention of Omega, courtesy of what the astronaut owner thought would be a routine service at his local jeweller.

Click on this link and enjoy the correspondence between Omega and this jeweller, and also the discussion about who ‘owns’ this watch.

  1. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation, must be quite a surprise and honor for the jeweler and Omega service department to received such unique item, from an unassuming astronaut. The watch certainly deserves a spot in the Smithsonian or the NASA museum.
