With unemployment in Nigeria hitting 9.9% in the third quarter of 2015, Ulysse Nardin CEO Patrik Hoffman has told Najj.com that his company plans to do their small part in assisting youth unemployment by training young Nigerians as watchmakers in partnership with local retailer Zakaa Luxury.

Ulysse Nardin is establishing a presence there with a boutique opening in Abuja, their first in Africa. It makes sense for them to invest in the local workforce not just for ‘front of house’ training in the boutique, but in after sales as well. The have told Naij.com that it is both about building the capacity to support what they hope will be a growing market there as well as passing on the skills of watchmaking.
