NEW: Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Geographic, Date, and Perpetual Calendar

Jaeger-LeCoultre has launched some new models to add to their Polaris collection – the familiar Geographic model is introduced into the family, and the Polaris Date and Perpetual Calendar models get some new colours for their lacquered opaline dials, which feature a mix of sunray brushed, snailed and grained finishing.

Let’s first look at the new (familiar) Geographic complication, which features an aperture at the bottom of the new ‘ocean grey’ dial which displays the cities for twenty-four time zones. There is also a 24-hour day/ night indication between 7 and 8 o’clock, daylight saving time is marked, and there is a power reserve indication between 9 and 11 o’clock. The hour numerals, markers, and skeletonised hands have Super-LumiNova.

You set the second time by turning the crown at 10 o’clock to select a location. When the city is selected, the corresponding time is automatically displayed.

The new Polaris Geographic comes in a 42mm sized stainless steel case with a thickness of 11.54mm and water resistance of 100m. Powering it is the automatic Calibre 939 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 70 hours.

Coming with two straps, one in textured black rubber and the other, a blue-grey canvas strap, the Australian RRP for the Polaris Geographic is $25,900.

Next up is the new Date, which also has a gradient ‘ocean grey’ lacquered dial. It is also in a 42mm sized stainless steel case, but it is 13.92mm thick and has water resistance of 200m. The case has two crows, one for changing the time, and the other for the rotating inner bezel. Unlike the new Polaris Geographic, which uses red for outlines of the triangular markers, for the new Polaris Date, the colour chosen is orange for triangle markers and dots.

Visible through the sapphire case back is the automatic Calibre 899 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 70 hours. It comes on a rubber strap but this can be easily changed for another strap or even a bracelet. The Australian RRP for the new Polaris Date is $ 17,900.

Lastly, the new Polaris Perpetual Calendar.

In a 42mm sized pink gold case with a thickness of 11.95mm and water resistance of 100m, its lacquered gradient dial is green. The functions in the recessed sub dials are the perpetual calendar of the name, featuring the day, date, month and year, moonphase (both hemispheres), and an inner rotating bezel. features a red “security zone” on the dial to remind you not to make date changes between eight PM and four AM.

Powering it is the automatic Calibre 868 which beats at 28,800 VP and has a power reserve of 70 hours.

The Polaris Perpetual Calendar comes with two straps – one black alligator and one in textured dark green rubber, and has an Australian RRP of $84,500.
