With the new Classic Auto Horizon, Laurent Ferrier has expanded the Classic Auto family but with a new member that will become part of the permanent collection. You may recall the Classic Auto Sandstone that was a limited edition Série Atelier model.
This new model comes in a 40mm (11.94mm thick) rounded case that is 11.94mm thick and water resistant to 30m, but the watch is all about the dial. The muted coppery tones of the earlier limited edition are ‘tonally’ continued here in the sense that the blue is also a more muted tone. The dial has transparent blue lacquer over a silver galvanic base, with vertical satin brushing surrounded by circular satin-brushed finishing around the outer track, which has dark blue coated transfers.
The date window at 3 o’clock is framed in dark blue with a slate grey numeral on a white disc and the classic Ferrier markers and Assegai-shaped hands are polished white gold, as is the seconds hand for the snailed small seconds at 6 o’clock.
Through the open case back is, as was the case for the Sandstone model, the automatic LF270.01. Featuring a platinum micro-rotor and rhodium-plated bridges featuring Côtes de Genève, it beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours.
The new Laurent Ferrier Classic Auto Horizon has an RRP of 45,000 (excluding taxes).
