Since its launch, the Black Bay 58 has cemented itself as a Tudor stalwart, and now there is a new variant in burgundy colour that there is no reason to think won’t be popular. The new Black Bay 58 Red’s colour choice also ties it into the 41mm Black Bay’s use of red, but they say that the prototype Submariner Ref. 79190 developed in the 1990s that had a burgundy dial and bezel (which was the origina. inspiration for the colour appearing in Black Bays) is the main inspiration for this new piece.
This new model comes in a 39mm stainless steel case with a mix of polished and satin finishing, with a unidirectional stainless steel bezel with a burgundy anodised aluminium insert. Water resistance is 200m. One unusual thing about it is that there are three strap/ bracelet options – a 5-link bracelet (for the first time), a 3-link bracelet, or a rubber strap. All three have the T-fit easy change system.
It is powered by the automatic in-house COSC and METAS certified MT5400-U which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 65 hours.
Pricing for the Black Bay 58 Red is AUD $6,850 on a 5-link bracelet, $6,690 on a 3-link bracelet, and $6,370 with a rubber strap.
