Angelus have gone down the ‘modern vintage’ chronograph route again, with the new Chronographe Télémètre joining its older siblings in the La Fabrique collection family. In limited editions of fifteen pieces in 18k 3N yellow gold and twenty-five pieces each in two steel models, at 37mm it is also the brand’s smallest chronograph, and a really comfortable size point for the vast majority of wrists.
With a thickness of 9.2mm and water resistance of 30m, it is a monopusher, which means that the chronograph function is set via the pusher set into the crown. The case itself is a mix of satin and polished finishing.
The vintage-inspired domed (stamped) grained dials have a satin-finished flange, diamond-polished border, and are available in three colours variants – rose or titanium grey for the stainless steel models and for the yellow gold variant, white nickel.
Alongside the hours and minutes are a 30-minute chronograph and a 20 km telemeter scale. The small seconds sub dial is at 9 o’clock and the 30-minute totaliser sub dial is at 3 o’clock. The sub dials are snailed. The applied hour-markers and Arabic numerals have black rhodium finishing or 3N gold finishing depending on the case material.
The Chronographe Télémètre is powered by the in-house manually-wound A5000 (the same movement used in the previous chronographs mentioned earlier) with a column wheel with horizontal clutch. It beats at 21,600 VPH and has a power reserve of 42 hours. Its main plate is 3N gold finished with circular graining, the components of the chronograph function are finished in palladium, and the bridges have 3N gold finishing and Côtes de Genève.
Coming on a steel blue, anthracite grey or sage green calfskin strap with a yellow gold or stainless steel pin buckle, the two steel models have an RRP of CHF 17,900 (including taxes) and the gold model has an RRP of 32,300 (including taxes).
