Louis Erard has done it again, this time partnering with GoS to bring Patrik Sjögren’s Damascus steel touch to the Le Régulateur model. If you bought all the previous Louis Erard collaborations, you’d have a nice little collection by now, and this is an unexpected and interesting possible addition.

The 39mm polished stainless steel case (12.82mm thick) has a water resistance of 50m, with the Louis Erard fir tree crown and a rehaut with diamond-polished angles. The régulateur display consists of an hour counter at 12 o’clock, central minutes, and a small seconds at 6 o’clock. The chapter ring and hour counter ring are both rhodium-plated with circular satin finish and diamond-polished chamfers. Around the perimeter of the dial are sharply notched hour and minute tracks, a GoS feature.

Now for the Damascus steel dial, which will be familiar to fans and followers of GoS. It is forged by blacksmith Conny Persson and hand-finished by Patrik Sjögren. As with all Damascus steel products, each dial will be different, so this may be a limited edition, but each piece is also (genuinely) unique. If you look closely, you will see the Louis Erard and GoS logos in white transfer at 3 o’clock. The blued hands and triskelion small seconds counter are designed by Sjögren in his house style.

Visible through the open case back is the automatic Sellita SW266. Featuring an open-worked rotor with a black lacqured Louis Erard logo, it beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 38 hours. The case back has a limitation reference engraving saying “Limited Edition 1 of 178”.

The strap is all about Patrik Sjögren’s influence – salmon, coloured black. There is an additional black grained calfskin strap.
