Romaric Andre (aka ‘seconde/ seconde/’) strikes again in the watch world, with another collaborative limited edition. This time it is with Perrelet in the form of the brand’s Turbine model.
The Turbine Perrelet x seconde/seconde/ comes in a 41mm case (13.9mm thick) made from black DLC grade 2 titanium which has a flat polished bezel and satin-brushed fluted case band. It is water resistant to 100m.
He has decided to play with the turbine design concept. If you are unfamiliar with it, the propeller rotates on its own axis with every wrist movement but is decorative rather than functional. For this model, the patented 12-blade turbine is in black anodised aluminium with five tungsten counterweights. On top of the Super-LumiNova-filled hour and minute hands Andre has put a yellow triangular warning sign in lieu of a traditional seconds hand. The yellow text “Keep Hands Clear” as found near heavy/ dangerous machinery for example reinforces the visual warning. Perrelet’s 1777 establishment date has been playfully used in a continuation of this ‘safety’ theme.
The hour ring features a mix of white Super-LumiNova-filled embossed hour markers and Arabic numerals.

Flipping it over, the back has a sapphire case back onto which the following text is inscribed – “I sincerely love art. But it will always come second. Safety first”, followed by “seconde/seconde/”. There is also an inscription of the limitation number xx/25.

Underneath it is the automatic COSC-certified Soprod base calibre P-331-MH. Beating at 28,800 VPH with a power reserve of 42 hours, it has a colimaçonné main plate, circular-grained bridges, and an open worked, rhodium-plated and brushed oscillating weight with the Perrelet logo. The watch also has a Chronofiable® certificate.
Coming on a black rubber strap with a black DLC-coated titanium pin buckle, the limited edition Perrelet Turbine seconde/seconde/ has an RRP of CHF 5,180.
