Another day and another bejewelled chronograph.

TAG Heuer has introduced a new precious stone variant to the Carrera collection with the new Carrera Chronograph Precious, a variant of the model first launched in 2023 when, marking sixty years of the model, a curved glassbox sapphire crystal made its appearance.

This new model is stainless steel, measuring 39mm (13.86mm thick) with 100m water resistance. The case features finely brushed finishing and a polished case.

There are two launch variants of the new model, one with a circular-brushed dial in the classic TAG Heuer blue, and the other, also circular-brushed, in soft pink. Alongside the classic bi-compax layout is a date window at 6 o’clock. rhodium-plated hands, date window at 6 o’clock. The glassbox top means that the diamond-set flange, which has 72 diamonds (0.45 carats) is able to be viewed from side-on. There are also diamond hour markers that follow the curve of the inner flange.

Looking at the dial, at 3 o’clock is either a pink or blue ‘azuré’ minute counter with rhodium-plated polished hand. At 6 o’clock is a pink or blue seconds indicator and rhodium-plated polished hand, and at 9 o’clock is either a pink or gold ‘azuré’ hour totaliser with a rhodium-plated polished hand. The applied minute markers are rhodium-plated. Both the central chronograph hand and the hour/ minute hands are rhodium-lated (polished or facetted), with the hour and minute hands containing Super-LumiNova.

The TAG HEUER logo at 6 o’clock is printed, as are “CARRERA” & “SWISS”.

Powering it is the in-house automatic TH20-00 column-wheel chronograph with vertical clutch that has a power reserve of 80 hours. It features a shield-shaped rotor.

The blue model comes on a dark blue alligator strap, and the pink variant has a pink calf strap, both with a polished steel folding clasp. Both straps feature a quick-change mechanism, should you wish to get an any additional straps.
