MIDO has introduced a new model to their Multifort collection with a new limited edition model featuring an anthracite dial with design of the mechanical movement. It is difficult to think that they were not inspired by Bvlgari’s Octo Finissimo Sketch, but at quite a different price point.
The Multifort Mechanical Limited Edition (Reference M038.605.11.060.00) comes in a stainless steel case measuring 44mm with a mix of polished and satin finishing and water resistance of 100m. The limited edition status is noted both on the flange and with “ONE OF 999” AND “JUBILE” engraved around the case back.

On the dial is the design of the movement, with the dial, bridges and gears in Super-LumiNova. The minute track is also lumed, as are the satin-finished hour and minute hands. The crown wheel at 3 o’clock and the ratchet wheel at 1 o’clock feature a circular snailed anthracite finish. The pawl and balance-spring are deep matte black. The slate-coloured gear bridges have a vertical satin-finish effect. Unusually, there is the use of blue and orange lume to outline parts of the movement.

The movement depicted is an old classic – ETA 6498-1 base, beating at 18,000 VPH and a power reserve of 46 hours. The rhodium-plated and bevelled bridges have Côtes de Genève and the MIDO logo.

It comes in a special box with one two straps – one brown leather with luminescent white stitching, a black synthetic fabric strap with white lumed stitching, and a satin-finished stainless steel bracelet with deployant buckle. They can be easily swapped through the brand’s easy-change system.
The new MIDO Multifort Mechanical Limited Edition has an RRP of USD1,420.
