NEW: De Bethune DB28xs Aérolite

De Bethune has launched the new DB28xs Aérolite, with a blued Muonionalusta meteorite dial featuring a random guilloché pattern that represents the rippled surface of a sea (albeit with ‘stars’on it). This new piece is a close relation of the DB28xs Starry Seas, which comes in a grade 5 titanium case with its blued titanium dial with a random guilloché pattern in white gold representing a star-filled sky. You can read more about that it at this link.

The new DB28xs Aérolite has a matte anthracite zirconium case in the same 38.7mm size (same thickness of 7.4.mm) as that of the DB28xs Starry Seas, with the floating lugs also in anthracite zirconium.

This model’s other antecedents are the DB25 Starry Varius Aérolite and the DB28XP Météorite, both of which use Muonionalusta meteorite. The dark blue dial of this new watch has become a De Bethune signature, with the brand treating meteorite in a way that distinguishes it from other brands which have also used this material. You can see the pattern of the meteorite underneath the colour treatment more clearly when looking at it from some angles.

The white gold ‘starry sky’ flakes on the dial are accompanied by polished rose gold hands, and an anthracite-coloured hour and minutes ring with rose gold transferred Arabic numerals, which nods back to the DB28XP Meteorite.

Through the open case back is the manually-wound DB2005 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of six days. It has all the standard hallmarks of a De Bethune movement, such as the patented self-regulating twin barrel that gives it the long power reserve, a titanium balance with gold inserts, and the De Bethune balance spring with flat terminal curve and the triple pare-chute shock absorption system. There is a flat-polished steel barrel bridge guard and the titanium plate guard has microlight decoration.

The new De Bethune DB28xs Aérolite comes on an alligator leather strap with alligator lining and black textile with a matte anthracite zirconium pin buckle.
