‘L’ is for lume and yes the micro trend continues, with Ressence’s latest addition to its TYPE 5 collection, the new TYPE 5 L, featuring a Super-LumiNova® inlay to illuminate its entire dial
This new piece comes in a 46mm sized grade 5 titanium case (thickness of 15.5mm) with 100m water resistance and weighs a scant 85g. It has a convex titanium dial with the classic design of three eccentric bi-axial satellites inclined at 3° (hours) and 4,75° (thermal gauge and runner). The engraved indications and dial are filled with green Grade A Super-LumiNova.

There are two separate sealed chambers with the upper one filled with 3.75 ml of oil which is what makes the watch readable, with this new fully lumed dial giving it readability not just in dark conditions but under water if you wish. Also diving-related the Ressence TYPE 5 L has an ‘easy grip’ unidirectional rotating bezel. Further to this, the case back features the Ressence Compression Lock System (RCLS) to lock the compression gasket for waterproofing (as well as winding and time-setting).

Powering it is the ROCS 5 which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 36 hours.
The TYPE 5 L comes on a grey fabric strap with yellow lining with an ardillon buckle and you get an extra blue rubber strap. It has an RRP of June 2024 CHF 34,500 (excluding taxes).
Will there be any more lume-oriented releases this year? Well we’re only halfway through 2024, so it’s possible.
