HYT marks its first twelve years in 2024, and with this comes a new collection – the T1 Series obviously still uses hydro-mechanical timekeeping, but in a smaller octagonal case and for the first time, a traditional fully enclosed dial.
The launch collection of the new T1 consists of four models in either titanium and DLC-coated titanium cases, or 5N gold and DLC titanium cases, with brass dials in salmon, silver, slate gray and midnight blue (the 5N gold and DLC titanium variant). The colour of the fluid is either blue or black.

The case is 45.3mm x 46.3mm x 17.2mm and has a crown at 2 o’clock that is either in titanium and DLC titanium or 5N gold and DLC titanium, with a combination of satin and micro-blasted finishing. Water resistance is 50m.

The hydro-mechanical fluidic time display is still in glass capillaries, with a mechanical minute indication via a central hand on a minute track with Arabic numerals. A tinted liquid progressively fills the capillary, marking the hour against the outer scale along the dial’s flange. After 12 hours, as it reaches the 6 o’clock position on the right, the tinted liquid flips back, retrograde-style, to its starting point at 6 o’clock on the other side.

Depending on the model, the minutes hand and the power reserve hand at 2 o’clock is either 5N gold, black gold polished, or rhodium-plated. Both hands have Super-LumiNova.
The new HYT T1 Seires is powered by the manually-wound 501-CM which beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours. It has a mix of sand-blasted and satin finishing and black and silver coating.

Each of the four new models comes with two interchangeable rubber straps with a titanium pin buckle (PVD titanium on the 5N gold/ titanium model). The strap common to all models is black, but the second strap is blue for the silver dial, slate gray for the salmon and slate dials, and dark blue for the 5N gold model.

Whether or not this new model is your thing or whether you prefer their open dials which show off the movement will be a matter of personal taste, but the T1 is the result of a lot of people requesting it, and for those who want the hydro-mechanical aspect but a more discreet look, it will suit.
The three titanium cased variants of the T1 have an RRP of CHF 48,000 (excl. taxes), and the T1 Gold has an RRP of CHF 64,000 (excl. taxes).
