For Watches and Wonders 2024 Piaget formally launched two watches under the collective banner of the Polo Date 150th Anniversary Edition, in limited editions of 300 pieces each.
In stainless steel cases of either 42mm or 36mm, both come on an interchangeable rubber strap (the first time in the smaller size), and apart from the size, the major differentiating item is that the 36mm model is set with brilliant-cut diamonds.

The 42mm model has a thickness of 9.4mm and water resistance of 100m. Powering it is the automatic Calibre 1110P which has a slate grey-coloured oscillating weight, beats at 28,800VPH, and has a power reserve or 50 hours. Finishing on the movement includes Circular Côtes de Genève, circular grained plate, and bevelling.

On an interchangeable brown rubber strap with a stainless steel buckle, the Piaget Polo Date 150th
Anniversary Edition 42 mm has an Australian RRP of $23,800 including taxes.
The 36mm sized Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary Edition has, as mentioned, a case set with 60 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling approximately 0.97 ct, with a further 36 brilliant-cut diamonds (approximately 0.08 ct) set into the hour markers. It is 8.8mm thick and has water resistance of 50m.

It is powered by the automatic Calibre 500P which has a slate grey-coloured oscillating weight, beats at 28,800 VPH, and has a power reserve of 40 hours. Finishing includes circular Côtes de Genève, a circular grained plate, and bevelling.

Coming on a brown rubber strap with a steel triple folding buckle, its Australian RRP is $35,100 (including taxes).
How best to describe these? Well the sizing and core details are well known, so it comes down to design decisions regarding colour, strap, and the diamonds. The immediate thoughts that came to mind were that these are sort of ‘breezy luxury sports casual’ summer watches, that have that sort of a vibe.
