NEW: Blancpain Villeret Quantième Perpétuel Green

The colour green continues on its way through the watch world, this time on Blancpain’s new Villeret Quantième Perpétuel Green, on which the enamel dial comes in a darker green which they call ‘sunburst green’ but say is inspired by the spruce forests near their Grandes Complications workshop.

The brand says that the timing of this new piece is because of how the perpetual calendar automatically adjust the date to take into account things like leap years.

They have chosen red gold to go with the green, with the 40.3mm case, hands and hour numerals in this metal.

The dial has the months and four year cycle/ leap year indicator at 12 o’clock, day of the month at 3 o’clock, day of the week at 9 o’clock, and a moon phase at 6 o’clock. Calendar adjustments are made through the patented correctors that are discreetly situated under the lugs.

Through the open case back can be seen the automatic Calibre 5954 which has a red gold honeycomb oscillating weight. It beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours.

Coming on a brown alligator leather strap (which ties in with the tree inspiration thing), this elegant new Villeret Quantième Perpétuel Green has an Australian RRP of $80,600.
