NEW: Zeitwinkel MAKS 188°

We’re going back to more colour today, with small independent Swiss brand Zeitwinkel launching a new series of watches called MAKS 188° coming in four launch colours – “Bleu Glacier”, “Vert de Limón”, “Rouge Lobélie” and “Orange d’Édouard”.

The existing modell 188° 39mm has hour and minute hands, a seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock, and a date window at 3 o’clock, coming with dials in either black, silver, rhodium, or blue.

There is an additional 39mm-sized 188° ‘frosted dials’ which is more tied to this new collection. With no date window, the dials are galvanic and come in a variety of shades.

As well as new colours, the new dials feature the brand’s laser-engraved W logo radiating from the small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock. Each dial has approximately twenty layers of hand-applied lacquer.

Powering the new Zeitwinkel MAKS series is the in-house ZW0102 automatic with 28 jewels, a beat rate of 28,800vph (4Hz) and a 72-hour power reserve. The movement features plates and bridges made of untreated German silver.

The watches are made to order and it takes approximately four months from the order being processed to delivery. Price at CHF 14,500 including taxes, you can order the new MAKS 188° directly from Zeitwinkel or from an authorised dealer. Oh and the name of the model? Ivica ‘MAKS’ Maksimovic, who founded the brand with Peter Nikolaus.
