The winter has been sunny in Sydney, even reaching over 20C, so even though the other hemisphere may be releasing ‘summer’ watches, there are still other releases that are aren’t seasonally-linked.
IWC has expanded its “Colors of TOP GUN” collection with the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Lake Tahoe. The new model (Ref IW503008) is in a 46.5mm white ceramic case with a deep black dial and black hands with white Super-LumiNova®. Given that the ‘IWC Lake Tahoe’ colour is based on the fact that it is an area famed for its winters (as well as its vicinity to the flight school which is linked to the model), the white ceramic case is seasonally appropriate one hemisphere.

The perpetual calendar has the usual suspects, with displays for the date, day, month, year and moon phase for both northern and southern hemispheres. The calendar will require no manual adjustment until 2100. The (patented) double moon phase display shows the moon as seen from both hemispheres.
Through the open case back can be seen the IWC automatic Calibre 52615 which beats at 28,800VPH and has a power reserve of seven days.

Coming on a white rubber strap with stainless steel folding clasp, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Lake Tahoe will be available as of this month with an Australian RRP of $59,700.
