NEW: Girard-Perregaux Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent

When Girard-Perregaux released their Casquette 2.0 last year, the desire to own a modern version of the original, which was produced from 1976 to 1978 with only 8,200 made, was greater than the 820 that were released for the limited production.

The 2.0 featured a new movement, the Calibre GP03980-1474, which was also used for the Only Watch Casquette.

This year, the popularity of brand collaborations has continued, with Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent Rive Droite having released another new Casquette, in a limited edition of 100 pieces.

Last year’s inaugural model had a case made of black ceramic and Grade 5 titanium (weighing 107g), with titanium pushers and a titanium badge with a 1970s logo. The case back was titanium with four screws.

The Saint Laurent Rive Droite model is in black ceramic with black PVD-treated titanium GP logo and pushers, measuring 42.4mm x33.6mm x 14.6mm with a water resistance of 50m, as before.

The movement is, once again, the quartz Girard-Perregaux in-house GP3980-1474 with a frequency of 32,768 Hertz.

The LED display remains the same, with functions of hours/ minutes/ seconds, day, date, month, year, chronograph, a second time zone, and a ‘secret date’ – you save a date and it will be displayed at a time specified by you. The pushers used to select the functions are titanium.

This Casquette 2.0 Saint Laurent comes on a black ceramic bracelet with rubber underside. The folding buckle has a black PVD-treated titanium cover, titanium blades, and a micro adjustment system.

Available exclusively at Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles, as well as online via the official Saint Laurent Rive Droite store in selected countries, it is priced at USD 6,700.

With this new model, I guess there’s always the possibility of more Casquette 2.0s in the future …
