The words ‘blue’ and ‘gold’ featured in the last post and so to do they in today’s – meet Ulysse Nardin’s newest Blast Tourbillon, the Blue & Gold.
The new Tourbillon Blue & Gold uses these two ‘naming words’ for a very different reason – they allude to their first use of rose gold and blue PVD-treated titanium in a case.
Movement-wise it is the skeletonised automatic UN-172 with a flying tourbillon with silicium escapement wheel, pallet fork, and, balance spring. It beats at 18,00 VPH and has a power reserve of 72 hours. The familiar X-shaped bridges are visible from either side, and on the dial side, the tourbillon is at 6 o’clock and the platinum micro-rotor, at 12 o’clock. The rectangle and double X are in blue and the gold indices and hands have Super-LumiNova®.
Featuring a sand-blasted blue PVD- titanium central case and sastin-finished and polished 5N rose gold upper case, it measures 45mm with a water resistance of 50m.
This latest addition to the Blast Tourbillon collection comes on a blue rubber strap which has a 5N rose gold and blue PVD titanium folding clasp. The RRP is CHF 63, 500 / EUR 67,438 (including tax).
