NEW: NOMOS Glashütte Tangente Neomatik Blue Gold

NOMOS Glashütte has released two new Tangente Neomatiks in 35mm and 38.5mm sized stainless steel cases with a blue dial that they are calling ‘Blue Gold’. One important thing to note at the outset is that the larger one is actually called the Tangente Neomatic 39 Blue Gold, so it’s probably easiest to just think of them as the smaller or larger versions.

The ‘gold’ of the name is because the dial is gold-plated before being galvanised and given sunburst polishing. The new models have rhodium-plated hands, silver numerals and markers, and the “neomatik”, which denotes the movement, is in gold.

The movement in question is, of course, the in-house automatic Calibre DUW 3001, with the NOMOS swing system with bi-directional rotor. It has a Glashütte three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing, rhodium-plating, NOMOS perlage, and a power reserve of 43 hours.

Both of the two new models have stainless steel case back and sapphire case back options. Water resistance is 30m for the 35mm model and 50m for the 38.5mm model. The model references are 190 and 191 for the Tangente neomatik blue gold, and References 145 and 146 for the Tangente neomatik 39 blue gold.

All the new Tangente neomatik blue gold models come on black Horween Shell Cordovan straps and the RRPs are as follows:

Reference 145 – AUD 4,690
Reference 146 – AUD 5,240
Reference 190 – AUD 4,410
Reference 191 – AUD 4,960

One of NOMOS’ many strengths as a brand, especially in a world in which ‘entry level’ mechanical watches seem to creep ever higher in price point, is that they continue to provide solid quality watches with decent movements that are good value and in a package that is aesthetically enduring.
