Oris has added to its Caliber 400 series of long power reserve movements with the Caliber 473, a new manual-wind movement with a 120-hour (five-day) power reserve that they are launching in the new Big Crown Calibre 473. This is part of their long-term strategy, as they mentioned at the commencement of their commitment to movements with longer power reserves and requiring less long-term maintenance, of having such movements across their collections.
The Big Crown Pointer Date was previously powered by the automatic Caliber 403, which also had a five day power reserve movement. This new watch premieres the latest manual-wind iteration of the Caliber 400 series and is Oris’ tenth in-house movement in ten years.

Clearly descended from the Big Crown Pointer Date, the new Big Crown Caliber 473 comes in a 38mm stainless steel case with a blue dial. The case is water resistant to 50m.
This new in-house movement beats at 28,00 VPH and the 120 hour power reserve indicator is on the rear of the watch.
The new Big Crown Caliber 473 comes on a Cervo Volante sustainable olive brown deer leather strap which features the inaugural appearance of a newly designed butterfly clasp with fine adjustment system.

As is the case with the earlier models featuring a Caliber 400 series movement, this new watch comes with a ten year recommended service interval. If you sign onto MyOris then the warranty is extended to ten years. The Australian RRP is $6,500.
