The year cannot finish without at least one more green watch, can it?

Laurent Ferrier has launched his fourth Série Atelier model, the Classic Micro-Rotor Magnetic Green. Available exclusively on their website, the twenty piece limited edition is, as are the others in the collection, a variant on an existing model with either a new colour, in this instance, or a new material, in a limited and numbered edition.

The inaugural Série Atelier in 2020 was the Classic Origin Green, followed by a blue and orange version of the École Annual Calendar, and then the Classic Traveller Magnetic Green, in the same colour as this latest model.

The pebble-shaped 40mm case is titanium, with a thickness of 10.70mm and water resistance of 30m. Its sides, bezel and lugs are polished.

Beneath the sapphire case back is the automatic Calibre FBN 229.01 with the unidirectional micro-rotor of its name in 18ct gold with guilloché. Beating at 21,600 VPH, it has a power reserve of 72 hours. Finishing-wise, there is circular graining on the plate, hand-bevelled bridges decorated with a rhodium-plated horizontal satin-brushed finish,a mirror-polished and open-worked pallet bridge, rotor bridge also mirror-polished and hand-bevelled..

The focal point, the green dial (not the brand’s first, as we’ve covered before), has a sunray finishing – sunburst in the centre, and circular satin-brushed at its outer. The seconds sub dial has a snailed pattern, with both Laurent Ferrier’s signature Assegai-shaped hands and the indices in 18ct white gold.

The small seconds dial at 6 o’clock features a baton-shaped second hand balanced by a slightly convex counterweight, and slate grey transfer markers.

Coming on a ‘forest green’ nubuck leather strap with Alacantara lining with agrade 5 titanium pin buckle, the Classic Micro-rotor “Série Atelier” Magnetic Green is in a limited edition of twenty pieces. Priced at CHF 49,500 excluding tax, it is exclusively available on the Laurent Ferrier website.
