NEW: IWC Portofino Perpetual Calendar

IWC has brought the Perpetual Calendar back to the Portofino collection with two new models in 18ct 5N gold or stainless steel, the latter marking the fist time there has been a Portofino Perpetual in this metal. At 40mm (thickness of 12.7mm) they are the smallest perpetual calendars in IWC’s current offerings and in line with Portofino’s range, in a sweet spot for many different wrist sizes.

The model in a stainless steel case has a silver-plated dial and rhodium-plated hands and markers. The 5N gold model also has a silver-plated dial with gold-plated hands and markers.

It is all very familiar dial wise, with the date at 3 o’clock, month at 6 o’clock, and at 9 o’clock, the day of the week. The leap year indicator is in the form of a red ‘L’ (along with the date indication on the day) and the moon phase display is integrated into the month display.

Visible through the open case back is the automatic Calibre 82650. With a rotor featuring the signature IWC medallion in solid gold, it beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 60 hours. The movement features the classic Pellaton system, which has some component made from zirconium oxide ceramic.

With bot new models coming on blue calfskin straps, the RRPs are AUD 33,900/ CHF 24,000 for the steel model, and AUD 48,100/ CHF 34,000 for the 18ct 5N gold one.
